A Fateful Night in San Diego

On the evening of March 29, 2002, the tranquility of San Diego's 4600 block of Hartley Street was shattered by the sound of gunfire. Residents, startled by the commotion, quickly alerted authorities. Upon arrival, officers discovered 30-year-old Linzy Pierson, known to friends and family as "Bugsy," lying on the sidewalk with multiple gunshot wounds. Despite the swift response, paramedics pronounced Pierson dead at the scene.

The Unfolding of a Tragedy

Witnesses recounted a chilling sequence of events leading up to the shooting. Pierson was seen conversing with an unidentified African American male on the sidewalk. The exchange took a dark turn when the man uttered, "It's going to be like that, huh?" Without warning, he drew a firearm and shot Pierson multiple times.
