On the evening of September 18, 2019, at approximately 8:11 p.m., the tranquility of the 200 block of P Street SW in Washington, D.C., was shattered by the sound of gunfire. Residents emerged to find 27-year-old Marquette Harris lying unconscious, having suffered multiple gunshot wounds. Despite the prompt arrival of emergency services, Harris was pronounced dead at the scene, leaving a community in shock and mourning.
Remembering Marquette: A Life Cut Short
In the days following the tragedy, friends and family gathered to honor Harris's memory.
