A Tragic Discovery

On December 5, 2014, the lifeless body of 44-year-old Lawanna R. McDaniel was discovered in a rural ditch along the 18000 block of Wells Road in Jacksonville, Florida. This grim finding marked the beginning of a prolonged and arduous journey for her family and the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office (JSO), as they sought answers in the wake of her untimely death.

A Life Remembered

Lawanna was a beloved mother, daughter, and sister. She is survived by her mother, Monzell Cohen; father, Anthony McDaniel; children, Tiara McDaniel, Whitney Taylor, Shana Lloyd, Heaven Mi'Angel McDaniel, Elijah Owens, and Henry Smith; grandchildren, Tereton Washington, Shawn Ti Braddy, Derek Hall, and Trinity L.
