The Tragic Evening of December 11, 2011

On the evening of December 11, 2011, Indianapolis was shaken by a tragic event that left two men dead and a community searching for answers. At approximately 7:20 p.m., law enforcement officers responded to reports of gunfire near the intersection of West 37th Street and North Capitol Avenue. Upon arrival, they discovered the lifeless bodies of 37-year-old Rico Lovelle Hawkins and 23-year-old Prince Bibbs, both residents of Indianapolis. Hawkins was found on the porch of a residence, while Bibbs lay on the sidewalk nearby.

Inside the home associated with the crime scene, officers found two young children unharmed. The relationship between the children and the victims was not disclosed, but authorities ensured the children's safety by placing them in protective care. 
