A Tragic Night in Merced

On the evening of July 12, 2003, the tranquility of Merced, California, was shattered by a heinous crime that remains unsolved to this day. At approximately 9:50 PM, sheriff's deputies responded to a distress call from 1301 Rita May Avenue, reporting gunshots and a house engulfed in flames.
