A Tragic Afternoon in Wrightwood

On the afternoon of October 13, 2017, the Wrightwood neighborhood on Chicago's Southwest Side was shaken by a violent incident. At approximately 3:57 p.m., 26-year-old Sharrod L. Peoples and another man of the same age were seated in a vehicle in the 8000 block of South California Avenue. Their routine day took a fatal turn when an unidentified individual approached and opened fire, leaving the community in shock and mourning.

The Immediate Aftermath

The assailant's bullets struck Peoples multiple times across his body, while his companion sustained a gunshot wound to the bicep. Both victims were urgently transported to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.
