A Tragic Afternoon in Denver
On October 10, 2015, at approximately 4:30 p.m., the tranquility of a Denver neighborhood was shattered by the sound of gunfire. Residents near East Dartmouth Avenue and South Parker Road were startled by the sudden commotion. Upon investigating, they discovered 30-year-old Dareon Tarbor lying outside an apartment building at 11100 East Dartmouth Avenue, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite the immediate efforts of Good Samaritans and first responders, Dareon succumbed to his injuries, marking the beginning of a haunting unsolved case.
The Immediate Aftermath
Witnesses recall the harrowing moments following the shooting. Brittany Alshawy, a resident of the complex, described rushing to Dareon's aid. "He just kept saying, ‘I can’t breathe, I can’t breathe, help me, I can’t breathe,'" she recounted.
