A Tragic Afternoon in Brentwood
On the afternoon of July 19, 2017, the Brentwood neighborhood of Jacksonville, Florida, was shaken by a violent crime that remains unsolved to this day. At approximately 4 p.m., 23-year-old Eldridge A. Beauford was seated in a parked car near the intersection of North Pearl and West 24th streets. According to reports, two or three men approached the vehicle and fired multiple shots, fatally wounding Beauford. The assailants then fled the scene in a waiting sedan, leaving the community in shock and mourning.
A Young Life Remembered
Born on December 6, 1993, Eldridge Beauford Jr. was a Jacksonville native who attended Sandalwood High School. He was a devoted father to two young children, Eldridge Beauford III and E'Lani Beauford, and shared a close bond with their mother, Michel Cade.
