On the evening of September 26, 1989, the community of Boynton Beach, Florida, was shaken by a violent crime that remains unsolved to this day. At approximately 9:30 p.m., 31-year-old Willie Hardimon was en route to purchase diapers for a friend's child—a simple, altruistic errand that would tragically be his last. As he drove his red 1975 Toyota pickup truck along NW 4th Street, a dark-colored Chevrolet approached. An individual exited the Chevrolet and, without warning, shot Hardimon, ending his life abruptly. The assailant then fled, leaving the community in shock and mourning.
