A Promising Young Life Ends Tragically

On the night of June 13, 2009, the city of West Haven, Connecticut, was the scene of a tragic discovery. Emergency responders were called to what appeared to be a routine car accident near the Exit 42 on-ramp of Interstate 95 northbound. Upon arrival, they found a vehicle that had veered down an embankment, concealed by dense foliage. Inside the car was the lifeless body of 20-year-old Tremaine "Twin" Newton, a resident of Bridgeport. Initial observations suggested that his injuries were inconsistent with those typically sustained in a car accident. This prompted authorities to secure the area as a crime scene and initiate a homicide investigation.

The Investigation Unfolds

The Connecticut State Police's Western District Major Crime Squad took charge of the investigation. A subsequent autopsy by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner confirmed that Tremaine had died from multiple gunshot wounds to the back of his head, officially ruling his death a homicide. Detectives determined that Tremaine was seated in the front of his Chrysler Concorde when he was shot.
