A Tragic Night in West Oakland

On the night of June 19, 2015, the streets of West Oakland were marred by violence. At approximately 11:17 p.m., 21-year-old Victor Smith was fatally shot while riding as a passenger in a car on the 3100 block of Filbert Street. Despite being rushed to Highland Hospital, Smith succumbed to his injuries, leaving a community in mourning and a family devastated. To date, no arrests have been made in connection with his murder.
