A Promising Young Life
In the early hours of October 9, 2003, the life of 19-year-old Diamond Teague was tragically cut short. Teague, a dedicated member of the Earth Conservation Corps (ECC), was shot and killed in the 2200 block of Prout Street, SE, Washington, D.C. His commitment to environmental restoration and community service had made him a beacon of hope in his neighborhood. Teague's untimely death not only robbed his family and friends of a beloved individual but also deprived the community of a passionate advocate for change.
The Fateful Night
On that fateful night, Teague was at home playing video games when he received a call from a friend, prompting him to step outside. Witnesses reported hearing laughter, a brief argument, and then a gunshot. Teague was found with a fatal gunshot wound to the head.
