A Tragic Night in Southeast D.C.

On the early morning of Saturday, January 22, 2005, the tranquility of Washington, D.C.'s Southeast neighborhood was shattered by the sound of gunfire. At approximately 1:50 am, near the intersection of 16th and U Streets, SE, 31-year-old Emmett Jordan was fatally shot. The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) responded swiftly to the scene, but despite their efforts, the assailant remained unidentified, and the case has since lingered unsolved.
