Tragic Incident on the Way to Work

On August 3, 2016, Plank was en route to his maintenance job at Jackson Park Hospital, a routine he had followed diligently. While driving near 84th and Stony Island in the Avalon Park neighborhood, a stray bullet struck him in the chest, causing a fatal collision with another vehicle. Authorities confirmed that Plank was not the intended target of the gunfire.
