Jesse Lopez, a 22-year-old Latino male from Los Angeles County, tragically ended his life on October 27, 2023. The Los Angeles County Coroner's Office reported that Jesse died by suicide through hanging at a residence, with the formal pronouncement of death made at 3:59 p.m. His untimely passing has left a void in the community and among those who knew him.
A Brief Disappearance and Safe Return
Prior to his death, Jesse had been reported missing from the Inglewood area in June 2022. At the time, he was 23 years old and had been diagnosed with bipolar disorder. He was last seen around 7 a.m. on a Tuesday in the 10000 block of Firmona Avenue, in the unincorporated Lennox area near Inglewood. Authorities sought the public's assistance in locating him. Fortunately, Jesse was found shortly after the report, though specific details about his disappearance and return were not disclosed.
A History of Struggles
Jesse's life was marked by challenges. In June 2020, during the George Floyd/Black Lives Matter protests in Los Angeles, he was arrested for violating curfew. At the time, he was 22 years old and residing in Los Angeles. This incident was part of a larger series of arrests during the protests.
A Cautionary Tale from the Past
In April 2015, Jesse was involved in a serious motorcycle accident in the mountains northeast of Los Angeles. While riding on Glendora Ridge Road, a popular route through the Angeles National Forest, he collided head-on with a Los Angeles County Fire Department crew transport bus.
