Introduction: A Tragic Night on Interstate 70

On August 27, 1991, the tranquility of Putnam County, Indiana, was irrevocably disrupted by a senseless act of violence. At approximately 1:13 a.m., 28-year-old Marsa Gipson was driving westbound on Interstate 70, accompanied by a male passenger. As they approached the Manhattan Road overpass, two massive rocks, each weighing over 15 pounds, were hurled from the bridge above. One of these rocks crashed through the windshield, striking Marsa and causing fatal injuries. This heinous act not only ended Marsa's life but also left an indelible scar on her family and the community. 
