In the early hours of May 18, 2014, the tranquility of Louisville's South 42nd Street was shattered by a grim discovery.

Vera Soumare, returning home around 1:30 a.m., found her son, Quinton "Jock" Logan, lifeless on the back porch. Initially mistaking him for a friend asleep, the horrifying reality soon set in—her 38-year-old son had been shot to death.
