A Tragic Night in Immokalee

In the early hours of August 12, 2009, the quiet community of Immokalee, Florida, was shaken by a heinous crime. At approximately 2 a.m., Collier County Sheriff's deputies responded to a distress call at 3883 State Road 29. There, they discovered 23-year-old Filomena Garay-Chavez lying unconscious in her front yard, bleeding profusely from severe injuries. Despite immediate medical attention and transportation to Lee Memorial Hospital in Fort Myers, Filomena succumbed to her injuries on August 15, 2009.
