A Promising Life Cut Short

On June 15, 2001, the Mountain View community of San Diego was shaken by a tragic event that claimed the life of 16-year-old Lynn Dale Bell. A student at Lincoln High School, Lynn had celebrated his birthday just a day prior. As he waited at a bus stop near the entrance to the Willie Henderson Sports Complex on Logan Avenue, an unidentified male approached him and fired multiple shots. Lynn was struck and succumbed to his injuries the following day, June 16, 2001.

An Innocent Bystander Wounded

The violence that erupted that day did not spare innocent bystanders. A young girl playing in the nearby park was struck in the face by a stray bullet.
