The Fateful Night in LoDo

On the night of July 30, 2016, Denver's Lower Downtown (LoDo) district was bustling with activity. As midnight approached, the vibrant atmosphere was shattered by an eruption of gunfire in a parking lot near 18th and Market Streets. More than 100 rounds were fired in a confrontation involving several gang members, leaving 20-year-old Gailen Armstrong dead at the scene and another man injured. The Denver Police Department described the incident as a "complex investigation," with no arrests made and suspect descriptions yet to be released.

A Young Life Cut Short

Born on January 9, 1996, in Denver, Colorado, Gailen Jahmil Armstrong, affectionately known as "Gator," was the third of five siblings. Raised alongside his brothers, sisters, and cousins, Gailen was remembered by his family as a loving individual with a bright future ahead.
