Thomas B. Tefft, a 67-year-old retiree, had built a serene life with his wife, Laura, in Indianapolis. Originally from Jamestown, New York, Thomas had taken over his father's business, Tefft Glass in Dunkirk, before relocating to Indianapolis in 1996.
