The 2005 Murder of Jerrick Dwayne Lamont Young

On December 20, 2005, the Louisville community was shaken by the tragic death of 18-year-old Jerrick Dwayne Lamont Young. His lifeless body was discovered in the driveway of 116 N 46th Street, a victim of a fatal gunshot wound.

Despite the passage of nearly two decades, Jerrick's murder remains unsolved. The lack of witnesses and leads has left his family and friends without closure, and the case continues to be a somber reminder of the work yet to be done in addressing violent crime in Louisville.

The 2024 Murder of Jerrick Dewayne Lamont Young Jr.

In a tragic twist of fate, nearly 19 years later, another young man bearing the same name met a similar end. On September 13, 2024, 18-year-old Jerrick Dewayne Lamont Young Jr. was shot and killed outside JJ's Food Mart on Dixie Highway in Louisville.
