Introduction

The disappearance of 18-month-old Kytana Ancog from Aiea, Hawaii, in early 2021, has left a community in mourning and searching for answers. This article delves into the details surrounding her case, highlighting the events leading up to her disappearance, the investigation that followed, and the ongoing quest for justice.

Last Known Sighting

On January 31, 2021, Kytana's mother entrusted her to the care of her father, Travis Rodrigues, at his residence on Kaulainahee Place in Aiea. This would be the last confirmed sighting of the toddler. When Rodrigues failed to return Kytana and became unresponsive to attempts at contact, a missing persons report was filed on February 10, 2021. 

The Investigation Unfolds

The Honolulu Police Department, with assistance from the FBI, launched an investigation into Kytana's disappearance. On February 13, 2021, authorities located and arrested Rodrigues in the Ko Olina area, charging him with second-degree murder. Later that evening, a second individual, Scott Michael Carter, was apprehended and charged with first-degree hindering prosecution. 

Witness Accounts and Allegations

Witnesses provided harrowing accounts of alleged abuse. One individual recounted seeing Rodrigues, apparently under the influence of methamphetamine, physically assaulting Kytana by slapping, shaking, and kicking her. The witness noted that the child was bruised and bleeding. Rodrigues allegedly dismissed the injuries, attributing them to a fall in the shower and claiming the blood was chocolate.
