A Fateful Evening Walk

On the evening of July 9, 2016, 50-year-old John Field set out for a routine walk with his dog near 1st Avenue and Broadway in Denver, Colorado. This ordinary activity took a tragic turn when a passing black Chevrolet Camaro came perilously close to his pet. In a moment of protective instinct, Field threw a beer bottle at the vehicle, shattering it upon impact. The occupants of the car responded with lethal force, opening fire and striking Field.
