The Evening of January 15, 2014

On the evening of January 15, 2014, the near-west side of Indianapolis was the scene of a tragic event that claimed the lives of two young individuals, Dayeon Johnson and Katrina White. At approximately 7:59 p.m., as they sat together in a blue Buick outside White's residence in the 1300 block of West 18th Street, an assailant unleashed a barrage of gunfire upon the vehicle. The aftermath revealed 17 spent shell casings scattered around the car, underscoring the brutality of the attack. 

Victims with Promising Futures

Both victims were just 20 years old, standing on the cusp of promising futures. Johnson, a 2013 graduate of George Washington High School, was employed at both the Amazon Distribution Center and McDonald's. White had recently enrolled at Ivy Tech Community College and was set to commence her classes the same week her life was tragically cut short.
