A Community Shattered by Violence

On the evening of October 28, 2015, the tranquility of Washington, D.C.'s Northeast neighborhood was shattered by a violent act that claimed the life of 25-year-old Marcquetta Cunningham. Residents of the 4200 block of Edson Place NE were left in shock and mourning as they grappled with the sudden loss of a young woman from their community. The Fateful Incident

At approximately 6:15 p.m., Marcquetta and an unidentified male companion were walking near her residence when they were ambushed by a group of men wearing ski masks.
