A Fateful Afternoon in March 2014

On a seemingly ordinary afternoon in late March 2014, the tranquility of the Villas at Ventana apartments on San Antonio's Northeast Side was shattered by a violent act. Residents were alarmed by the sound of gunfire, and first responders quickly arrived at the scene. Inside one of the apartments, they discovered 29-year-old David Koah slumped against a wall, a gunshot wound to the back of his head. Despite his grievous injury, David was conscious enough to utter the words, "Help me." Nearby, his infant daughter was found unharmed, a silent witness to the traumatic event.

A Life Forever Altered

David was rushed to San Antonio Military Medical Center, where he underwent emergency surgery. The bullet had caused significant damage, leaving him paralyzed.
