A Promising Life Cut Short

In the early hours of May 7, 2017, tragedy struck the Montclare neighborhood on Chicago's Northwest Side. Nineteen-year-old Jaime Arceo, the son of the family who owned and operated the local restaurant El Taconazo, was fatally shot during a robbery at the establishment. Jaime was known for his dedication to his family and their business, often working late shifts to support their endeavors. The Fateful Night

Around 2:50 a.m., an armed assailant wearing a ski mask entered El Taconazo through the back entrance. The intruder immediately targeted a 22-year-old employee, shooting him in the back.
