A Promising Life Cut Short

On the morning of June 1, 2016, the West Elsdon neighborhood of Chicago was shaken by the tragic loss of 16-year-old Victor Felix. Known affectionately as "Baby Vic," Victor was a sophomore at John Hancock College Prep High School, standing tall at 6 feet 3 inches and weighing 200 pounds. He was a familiar face in his community, often seen engaging in sports like basketball and softball, with aspirations to play at the collegiate level. His family and friends remember him as a good-natured individual, deeply loved by those around him. 

The Fateful Walk to School

That day began like any other, with Victor's grandmother dropping him off at school. However, two friends invited him to walk to a nearby store before classes commenced. As they returned around 8:45 a.m., a brown Buick approached near the intersection of 56th and Keeler. An individual exited the vehicle and opened fire.
