Discovery of the Bodies

On the morning of August 23, 2017, a passerby made a grim discovery at El Prado Park, located near 19th and Southern Avenues in South Phoenix. The bodies of 28-year-old Gregory Hairston and 23-year-old Clomie Mayberry were found near the bleachers of a baseball field, both showing signs of trauma. Phoenix Police Sergeant Alan Pfohl confirmed that both victims had been shot and were pronounced dead at the scene. The passerby immediately alerted a park worker, who then contacted the authorities.
