The Fateful Night
In the early hours of March 2, 1996, Anchorage, Alaska, was shrouded in the stillness typical of a late winter night. At approximately 3:00 a.m., a sudden eruption of violence shattered the calm near the intersection of 5th and H Street. Twenty-year-old Joseph Bruce Massey was a passenger in a blue Nissan four-door sedan when an altercation with occupants of another vehicle escalated, culminating in Massey being fatally shot in the head. The Vehicles and Suspects
Witnesses reported seeing multiple vehicles in the vicinity at the time of the shooting.
