The Incident

On the night of July 12, 2016, tragedy struck the Englewood neighborhood of Chicago. At approximately 10:50 p.m., officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 6000 block of South Carpenter Street. Upon arrival, they discovered two unresponsive men: one lying in the street and another seated in the driver's seat of a gray vehicle. Both had sustained fatal gunshot wounds to the head and were pronounced dead at the scene.

Victim Identification

One of the victims was identified as 34-year-old Rodney Wayne Phillips Orr, a resident of the 6100 block of South Cottage Grove Avenue. An autopsy confirmed that he died from multiple gunshot wounds, and his death was officially ruled a homicide.
