Introduction

In the early hours of September 16, 2016, the Holmes family of Louisville, Kentucky, experienced an unimaginable tragedy. Thomas E. Holmes, 51, and his son, Thomas A. Holmes, 20, were found dead in their home on Gerald Avenue in the Pleasure Ridge Park neighborhood. The double homicide shocked the community and left many questions unanswered.๎ˆ†

The Incident

The Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD) received a 911 call reporting a home invasion and shooting at the Holmes residence. Upon arrival, officers discovered the lifeless bodies of the father and son inside their home. Initial reports indicated that a woman residing in the house, presumably a family member, made the emergency call, stating that intruders had broken in and shot her boyfriend and their son. Despite her presence during the incident, authorities noted that she might not have witnessed the crime directly, depending on her location within the house at the time.
