A Community Shattered by Violence

In the early hours of May 9, 2012, the Montbello neighborhood in Denver was rocked by a sudden eruption of gunfire. At approximately 12:50 a.m., 24-year-old James "Jay" Dishmon IV stood outside a residence at 13390 East 55th Avenue, accompanied by several friends. Without warning, unknown assailants opened fire on the group, resulting in four individuals being shot.
