A Life Cut Short

In the early hours of August 6, 2016, the Near North Side neighborhood of Chicago was shaken by the tragic death of 32-year-old Maurice Selvy, affectionately known to friends and family as "Reese D." Selvy was a resident of the 900 block of North Cambridge Avenue, a community he called home. His life was abruptly ended just a block away from his residence, leaving a void in the hearts of those who knew him. ๎ˆ†

The Fateful Incident

Around 3 a.m., Selvy stood outside in the 800 block of North Cambridge with a 33-year-old companion. Without warning, an unidentified assailant opened fire, striking Selvy in the head and abdomen. His companion sustained a gunshot wound to the torso.
