The Fateful Evening

On July 16, 2001, at approximately 10:25 p.m., the tranquility of Northeast Washington, D.C., was shattered by a violent crime that remains unsolved to this day. In an alley adjacent to #8 Evarts Street, NE, two young men, Melvin Turner Jr. and Myron Morgan Jr., were fatally shot. The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) reported that the assailants fled the scene in a small, blue-colored vehicle, possibly a Nissan Sentra. Despite the passage of time, the identities of the perpetrators and the motive behind this double homicide continue to elude investigators.
