The Fateful Evening

In the early hours of August 14, 2016, a vibrant birthday celebration at Prime Development, an art gallery and streetwear shop located at 322 15th Street in downtown Oakland, turned into a scene of chaos and tragedy. The event drew a large crowd, with approximately 300 attendees gathered to enjoy the festivities. Among them was 20-year-old Craig Fletcher-Cooks, a Berkeley High School alumnus who had graduated in 2014 and was known for his participation in youth rugby and the school's football team. The Confrontation

The joyous atmosphere took a dark turn when four young men, described as being in their 20s, approached Craig's girlfriend, attempting to coerce her into dancing with them.
