The Fateful Evening

Eighteen-year-old Rodney Leidig and two friends stood on the sidewalk when two assailants opened fire from the yard of a nearby house at the corner of Treewood and Sweetwood. The sudden eruption of violence sent the young men fleeing westward, but tragically, Leidig was struck and collapsed. His friends, in a desperate bid to save him, sought help from a neighbor's house.
