A Cold December Night in San Francisco

On December 16, 2016, as the holiday season enveloped San Francisco, a tragic event unfolded in the city's Mission District. At approximately 8:46 PM, 27-year-old Lindsay Elaine McCollum and 51-year-old Eddie Wayne "Tennessee" Tate were fatally shot while inside a wooden box they used as living quarters on the northwest corner of 16th Street and South Van Ness Avenue. The double homicide sent shockwaves through the community and remains unsolved to this day.

Lives Marked by Struggles and Resilience

Lindsay McCollum hailed from Patterson, a small city in California's Central Valley. Throughout her adult life, she grappled with heroin addiction and mental illness, leading her to periods of homelessness in San Francisco. Despite these challenges, Lindsay was remembered by her mother, Carrie, as a talented and intelligent individual who loved animals, danced, and played the piano during her childhood.
