Introduction

Dhartri Palacios Hadley vanished on May 1, 2008, from Honolulu, Hawaii. At the age of 42, this African‑American man was considered an "endangered missing" person. Despite intermittent withdrawals of his monthly Social Security checks in the islands, Dhartri mysteriously ceased communication with family and authorities from that point onward. A Man Between Two Worlds

Known to split his time between San Francisco and Hawaii, Dhartri led a transient lifestyle. He spent winter months in San Francisco and summer months in Honolulu.
