On August 2, 1982, 53-year-old Zelma Anderson vanished without a trace. Her sudden disappearance left friends and family in McDowell, Kentucky, deeply concerned. Despite efforts to locate her, months passed with no leads, and the case grew cold.

Nearly five months later, on December 23, 1982, skeletal remains were discovered in an old Orkney strip-mine near McDowell. The remains were identified as those of Zelma Anderson. The Shadow of a Serial Killer

In recent years, online forums have speculated about a possible connection between Anderson's death and the crimes of Samuel Little, a convicted serial killer who confessed to numerous murders across the United States.
