On the evening of November 6, 2016, authorities received a call about a man shot inside a hotel room. Upon arrival at the 12000 block of the South I-10 Service Road in New Orleans, they found Dontreal Eleby lying on the floor in a first-floor hallway. He was pronounced dead at the scene. 
