A Quiet Departure from Provo
On the evening of June 7, 2015, 73-year-old Wayne William Buckley left his home in Provo, Utah, after dropping off his son around 10:00 p.m. He was driving his silver and black 2005 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck, which had a small shell on the back and expired Utah license plates numbered Y805XB. Buckley reportedly planned to travel to Mount Pleasant to register his vehicle, a routine errand that would take him through the scenic but remote terrain of central Utah. However, he never arrived at his destination, and that night marked the last confirmed sighting of him.
Discovery in the Wilderness
Five days later, on June 12, Buckley’s truck was discovered abandoned near the Sleepy Hollow trailhead on Co-Op Creek Road, just north of Strawberry Reservoir in Wasatch County. This area, part of the Currant Creek region, is known for its rugged beauty and isolation.
