On July 29, 1955, what began as a leisurely outing on Moon Lake in Duchesne County, Utah, ended in an enduring mystery. Clarence Delmer Simons, his sister Ruby Mae Bosen, her husband Calvin Wayne Bosen, and their friends A.G. and Lucy Smith embarked on a boating trip that would have unforeseen and tragic consequences. 

The Ill-Fated Excursion

The group rented a small aluminum boat from Moon Lake Lodge, intending to enjoy a day on the serene waters. Equipped with two motors—one at the rear and another on the side—the boat was designed for both maneuverability and speed.
