A Life Cut Short

On November 5, 2017, the life of 22-year-old Chadrick Lee was tragically cut short. Born on February 3, 1995, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Lee was a resident of Zachary and worked at Shopper's Choice Warehouse. He was known to be a cherished member of his community, leaving behind a grieving family and numerous friends who remember him fondly. 

The Crime Scene

In the early hours of that Sunday, shortly after 2 a.m., Baton Rouge police responded to reports of gunshots at an apartment complex north of the Scotlandville neighborhood. Upon arrival, they discovered Lee's body in the parking lot, having succumbed to apparent gunshot wounds. Neighbors reported hearing several gunshots, indicating a violent and sudden attack. 

Investigation Stalled

Despite immediate efforts by law enforcement, the investigation into Lee's murder faced significant challenges. As of the morning following the incident, police had not identified any suspects or determined a motive for the shooting. The lack of witnesses and physical evidence left investigators with few leads, and the case quickly grew cold. 

Community Impact

Lee's death sent shockwaves through the Zachary and Baton Rouge communities. Friends and family mourned the loss of a young man described as kind-hearted and hardworking.
