On February 28, 2019, James Pruitt, a resident of Etowah, Tennessee, embarked on a day hike in Rocky Mountain National Park. Surveillance footage captured him at a Safeway grocery store in Estes Park that morning, wearing a dark blue jacket, blue jeans, an orange beanie hat, ski goggles, and micro-spikes on his shoes.
