A Fateful Night in Goddard

In the early hours of June 14, 2015, tranquility in Goddard, Kansas, was shattered by a tragic incident. At approximately 2:30 a.m., 36-year-old Aaron Matej was walking near the intersection of 13th Street North and 183rd Street West when he was struck by a vehicle. The driver fled the scene, leaving Aaron critically injured. He was swiftly transported to Via Christi St. Francis hospital, where, despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries. 

The Immediate Aftermath

The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office promptly initiated an investigation into the fatal hit-and-run. Witnesses reported that the vehicle involved was a black and tan Ford Ranger pickup.
