A Mysterious Discovery on Valentine's Day

On February 14, 1982, an Arizona state trooper patrolling Interstate 40 near Williams, Arizona, made a grim discovery. While searching for a lost tire, he stumbled upon the decomposing body of a young woman lying face down under a cedar tree. Clad only in blue jeans, with a white sweater and bra nearby, the victim's identity was a mystery. Due to the date of discovery, she was dubbed "Valentine Sally" by authorities.

The Last Known Sighting

Investigators soon uncovered a potential lead. On February 4, 1982, a waitress named Patty Wilkins at the Monte Carlo Truck Stop near Ash Fork, Arizona, recalled serving a young blonde girl accompanied by an older man. The girl, estimated to be in her late teens, complained of a toothache, prompting Wilkins to crush an aspirin to alleviate her pain.
