A Life Cut Short

On October 17, 2009, the Eastside neighborhood of Indianapolis was shaken by the tragic death of Darnell Dewayne Overstreet. While walking down an alley in the 700 block of North Sherman around 5:30 PM, Darnell was fatally shot in the head. Authorities quickly responded to the scene, but despite their efforts, the assailant remained at large. 

Investigators determined that this was not a random shooting. Witnesses reported that Darnell had been involved in an argument shortly before the incident occurred.
