A Young Mother's Routine Morning

On the morning of December 28, 1995, 24-year-old Gina Bridget Cyphers began her day like any other devoted mother. At approximately 9:00 AM, she dropped off her 15-month-old son, James, at the "Morning Out for Moms" daycare program held at the First Methodist Church in Salina, Kansas. This program provided mothers with a few hours of respite, allowing them to run errands or simply take a brief break from their daily responsibilities. Gina was scheduled to return by 11:30 AM to pick up her son, a routine she had likely followed numerous times before.

A Disturbing Discovery

When Gina did not arrive to collect James at the designated time, daycare personnel grew concerned. They reached out to her live-in boyfriend, Jimmie Anderson, at his workplace to inform him of the situation. Alarmed by the news, Jimmie immediately left work and headed to their residence, located at 721 West Cloud #54 in Salina. Upon entering their mobile home, he was met with a horrifying scene: Gina's lifeless body.
